Hi, I’m Amba,
I’m a lifelong vegan who is frankly obsessed with exploring cultures through food.
I’ve spent the last 10 years working with the United Nations, a job that has taken me across the world. While my work connected me with people, it has always been food that has given me the deepest connection to the places I have been.

I believe deeply that every dish tells a story of people, cultures, history.
I started Recipes in Translation to share these experiences and to show that a commitment to healthy and vegan cooking doesn't need to limit the richness of global cuisine you can enjoy at home.
Every culture has unique plant-based flavors and traditions that deserve to be celebrated. My aspiration is to be the messenger.

At Recipes in Translation, I'm exploring global cuisines while being true to the principle of healthy, vegan cooking.
I'm on a mission to search for dishes and food innovations you may not know, exploring the overlooked, the surprising, and the dishes and ingredients that deserve some recognition.
